Introduction

I know this is a DEMONIC TOYS website, however I felt like giving the fans something new and unique. So I'm attempting to find as much information and images from all the unproduced or unreleased Charles Band films, from the original Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys to the Puppet Wars trilogy, and even Bride of the Head of the Family.

- The Toyland Chairman

Unproduced Full Moon Films

Battle Jox (1994)
Another take on Empire's Robot Jox, this time there would be giant dinosaur robots. I've seen poster art on a Videozone, but can't remember which one it was.

If anyone has the poster please send it to me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boneyard (1999)
I saw the poster on eBay once, looked like a broken chain or something. Made me wonder if it was a Castle Freak sequel.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bride of the Head of the Family
Obvious sequel to Charles Band's Head of the Family, wanted to see it made but could not get an agreement from fellow Full Moon executives. I hear a teaser was promoted in the Videozone to Shrieker I think. Charles Band constantly talked about making it but he's sure taking his sweet time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dollmaker (1990)
Info given to me that in the mid 90's David DeCoteau was slated to produce and/or direct a flick for Full Moon called DOLLMAKER. Obviously an attempt to recapture the magic of PUPPET MASTER'S franchisability, not much is known about it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dracula Reborn
Much like Frankenstein Reborn and Werewolf Reborn, Full Moon's label Filmonsters! was creating new films based on classic monster characters. The plot was "The year is 1887, JONATHAN HARKER and his young brother ROBERT travel to the wolds of Transylvania on business. Upon their arrival, the two are greeted by the ancient Count Dracula who has a much darker hidden agenda. When Jonathan falls under the spell of the evil Count, Robert is the only one who can save him - and destroy the deadly vampire."

(emailed to me by a friend)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FEAR.com (1999)
I'm told it was about a demonic website/computer game. Charles Band announced this back in 1999 in the Retro Puppet Master Videozone. I was also told a re-written script eventually was filmed and released as 2001's HorrorVision, which I have not seen outside clips from Full Moon's Aliens Gone Wild! DVD.

The Gingerdead Man (2001)
With a screenplay by actor turned writer William Butler (Ghoulies 2, Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III), a killer’s remains mixed in with cookie dough becomes a murderous Pillsbury Dough Boy type CGI character. I still have yet to see the official version of the movie, but I’ve been told much of Butler’s original script was modified and even the killer cookie signs were changed, probably to avoid costly CGI.

An unreleased toy was made based on the original design.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Grim Rapper
Obviously another Alchemy/Big City Pictures Production more than likely about an African-American grim reaper, but it was never made. Probably because of CB killing off Alchemy/Big City. And their movies weren't all that good anyway, they included a little too much of the rap music and black stereotypes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head of the Family 3
Charles Band getting over excited.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Legion of Doom
This was going to be Charles Band's superhero team movie. He once stated that films like Mandroid and Invisible: The Chronicles of Benjamin Knight were efforts to slowly build characters for a team movie. So it's entirely possible Dark Angel and Doctor Mordrid could have been on the team as well in this movie.

If anyone has the poster art please send it me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Mummy Reborn (1999)
Another Filmonsters! production from Full Moon and Tempe Video. To be directed by J.R. Bookwalter (Witchouse 2: Blood Coven), the film was cancelled for reasons unknown to me. The plot involved "Arthur Grosvenor, 15-year-old son of the famous Egyptologist, Sir Robert Grosvenor, was by his father’s side at the discovery and opening of the tomb of Pharaoh Ah Hotep. When the Pharaoh’s mummy vanishes and the violators of the tomb begin to suffer mysterious and terrible deaths, Arthur must find a way to put the vengeful living mummy to rest."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Puppet Master (The Kenneth J. Hall Script)
I had emailed good old Kenneth J. Hall about other films before, but recently he gave me a little inside info on this unproduced PUPPET MASTER film. He wrote me, "While there were similarities between my first draft and the final script, there were a great many changes made. There were two main reasons for this. First, despite the fact that Charles Band asked for all these puppets in the story, the budget simply couldn’t afford them. Both Six-Shooter and Cyclops were in there but later taken out and saved for sequels. There was a Blade puppet but it had multiple arms too, like Kali from THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD. The Jester puppet was not in my script. Instead, there was one called Skull, who basically spied on people. His look was transposed onto Blade. The bigger changes were in the live characters and the action, which are far too many to go into here. The reason for this could be attributed to “creative differences,” but the reality is director David Schmoeller could get paid more if he did a major rewrite on it. An indication that he was solely interested in the money is the fact that he used a pseudonym as the screenwriter. The Writer’s Guild arbitrated the credits and gave “Joseph Collodi” (in reality the author of Pinocchio) the screenplay credit while Charlie and I got “story by.”"

David Schmoeller has commented before on the making of the official movie. On an interview with The Terror Trap he announced he had come up with puppets and the idea of Blade, and David Allen's finished prop used was made to be based on German actor Klaus Kinski, whom David had directed in the Empire thriller Crawlspace. That apparently was not an easy job with Kinski. He even mentions why he believes he was not involved in making any of the sequels, and his displeasure with Charles Band.

Kenneth also informed me he does indeed sell copies of the script for only $25. Sadly it has never been scanned or posted online. If you'd like to order a copy of his script, check his website for contact information.

Based on Ken's info, I would think these two images are based on his script, as it includes both Cyclops and a Six-Shooter type character for example.

Puppet Master 9 (starring Gordon Currie)
A few years back, I forget which date, before 2003, some unknown studio I also forget, bragged on the message board of a former official Full Moon website about doing another entry starring Gordon Currie (of parts 4 and 5). I don't think the company had the rights so it obviously never came close. I remember they had a PM9 website too, since been taken down of course. What made me so disbelieving about this project was this was being titled as part 9 yet this was a couple years or so before Puppet Master: The Legacy, so no part 8 even existed at the time. I asked the person who was talking about it and he said Full Moon was in production of a part 8 (unless he was talking about PMvsDT when it was supposed to get made in 2001), so either that one never got made, or the guy was just lying. Maybe if he or she whatever reads this they can give me some straight answers, because right now I think this whole concept was just a fat lie.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys (1993)
Little is known about this concept besides the famous teaser poster. Judging from the poster, the film most likely would’ve included both Torch and Mister Static, whom did not appear in the official version with Corey Feldman. The movie was another chapter in Full Moon’s crossover series, and was intended to be the fourth PUPPET MASTER film of the series, but was post-poned more than likely after the Sutekh storyline came along.

(PMvsDT teaser poster)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys (2001)
I can’t be too sure if this had the same script as the first one, I assume not as this would’ve starred the notorious Traci Lords as a woman that purchases the puppets from eBay and stores them in the Toyland Warehouse with the toys. I have no idea who wrote the script, if one was written. I think at one point J.R. Bookwalter (The Dead Next Door) was to direct, but that may have just been a mistake.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Puppet Master vs. Subspecies
I’m not sure about any truth here, Charles Band's lost attempt at pitting two small armies against each other. Anyone know anything about this one?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Puppet Wars I: Curse of the Puppet Master (1995)
The infamous planned trilogy to follow Puppet Master 5: The Final Chapter. I've read the script to the first film, and was set directly after the events of Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge. Set entirely on a train, Toulon and his puppets come across Nazi foes conducting rituals to raise Anubis, the Egyptian Sun God. Our heroes' only ally is a mysterious man with a small group of little beasts, beasts called Homunculus, ordered to eliminate the evil enemy. He too carries a powerful secret. The script leads up to the next film, and get this, Hitler has a cameo near the end.

(poster provided by http://www.jaywoelfel.com/puppetwars.html)

The screenplay for the first film was written by Jay Woelfel (directed Trancers 6), with modifications by Courtney Joyner (PuppetMaster 3, Trancers 3) and Benjamin Carr (Retro Puppet Master) on all three scripts. Filming was intended to take place in Romania, and Jay was hoping Dave DeCoteau would direct the first film. It's said at one point horror legend Christopher Lee (Horror of Dracula, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring) was available to play the part of Andre Toulon but Guy Rolfe was signed to return after three films.

(Anubis on the left and Homuniculus on the right, images provided by http://www.jaywoelfel.com/puppetwars.html)

Special effects were prepared for the film and new puppets built. Jay said the idea was that each installment would introduce a new puppet character. Second unit footage was even shot in Romania of all the train exteriors. But it seems there was never enough money to make one film, much less three. The train footage ended up being recycled in Retro Puppet Master when young Toulon is trying to save Elsa, but those ideas were not based on anything from these films. More footage of the train interior and exterior I'm told was featured in the film Train of Life.

For more information, sketches and behind-the-scenes photos from this unproduced film, check Jay Woelfel's PUPPET WARS page.

If you would like to Download the screenplay for PUPPET WARS I: CURSE OF THE PUPPET MASTER, check Jay Woelfel's PUPPET WARS Production Notes, and go to the bottom of the page and click DOWNLOADABLE SCRIPT HERE. It's totally free, and a great script, and truly deserves to be made into a film.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Puppet Wars II: Tomb/Vault of the Puppet Master (199?)
Written by Dave Parker, as the first film involved mummies, this next film was intended to revolve around vampires. Very little is known about the story or characters, but obviously it picks up where CURSE left off, with Toulon and his puppets escaping the train, and on the run from Nazi and supernatural forces.

Also, I'm not sure if they could decide on the title. Jay Woefel's website just says "TOMB OR VAULT."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Puppet Wars III: Castle of the Puppet Master (199?)
Written by both Jay Woelfel and Dave Parker, with mummies and vampires done, this was supposed to be a Frankenstein type story. I think the plot involved Toulon and the puppets finally arriving in America, and hiding in the Bodega Bay Inn, but I'm just guessing that. It would've set up for the opening scene of the original movie in which Toulon kills himself.

Believe it or not, CASTLE actually wasn't the title. The third film was left untitled, buy Jay Woelfel felt it should've been titled CASTLE. This being a reference to Hammer Horror Films of the 1950's, and a Castle of FRANKENSTEIN story of course.

I could be wrong, but I think this was the chapter to include BOMBSHELL, a new female puppet I don't recall her appearing in the CURSE script, so I assume it was one of the sequels. But I could be wrong, it's been a while since I last read it. As you can see in the photo before, props were actually made. From what I last heard, her breasts were supposed to explode, or shoot something, I forget which.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ragdoll (1995)
First announced in the Videozone for Puppet Master 5, the film was eventually made and released Urban style under the Alchemy label in 1999. It's unknown how much was changed from the script, but I assume they started again from scratch. More than likely this would've been written by Jay Woelfel and Dave Parker.

Retro Puppet Master (The Matthew Jason Walsh Script)
Ive read this was originally supposed to take place just after Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge, with Toulon and the puppets on a train bound for someplace other than Germany and encountering a variety of Nazis and demonic foes. This script, by Matthew Jason Walsh, was thrown out by Kushner-Locke because it "would offend the German audience". It actually reminds me a little of the first PUPPET WARS script.

(image provided by http://www.ween.net/puppetmaster/)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seedpeople 2
Writer/Director Jay Woelfel (Demonicus) decided to co-write a sequel to a Full Moon film hoping to get their attention with behind-the-scenes inside man Dave Parker. According to Jay's official website he wrote a story called THE TREE OF SCREAMS and Dave thought they could adapt it to be SEEDPEOPLE 2. That they did, totally on spec, and submitted it. Full Moon loved the script but said, “Unfortunately SEEDPEOPLE is probably the only film we’ve ever made that we will never make a sequel to.” They attempted to write more sequels, including PUPPET WARS and RAGDOLL, but they too were never made.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shadow Over Innsmouth (1991)
Full Moon Entertainment's failed attempt to bring about the adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's story. See the Empire section for more info.

Shrieker 2
Considered after the release of the original in which the creature this time would have three heads. This information was revealed in the Videozone to the first film, but I have no idea why it never started production.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subspecies 2 (the one set in San Francisco)
In the Videozone to Demonic Toys, there was a segment about Poster Art Creation, in which an artist was designing a poster for an upcoming SUBSPECIES movie, which was apparently going to be set in San Francisco, USA, rather than Romania like the first one. The poster featured the Subspecies carrying Radu's decapitated head with San Francisco buildings in the background. I have no idea why it never happened, perhaps writer/director Ted Nicolaou felt it was better and possibly cheaper to have Radu remain in his home land chasing Michelle forever.

If anyone has the official poster art please send it me.

(This image was sent to me by a friend. It's for the DVD box set and is close to the original poster, however the background has been changed.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unproduced Moonbeam Films

Dragonworld 2
Charles Band mentioned on the original DRAGONWORLD's Videozone that they might go a head with a sequel. Probably no script was written, so I doubt the 1999 Ted Nicolaou directed sequel Dragonworld: The Legend Continues was that same planned sequel.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Genie (1994)
Another title Charlie mentioned on the original Dragonworld Videozone. All he had to say was it was to begin filming the same year DRAGONWORLD was released.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Teenie Weenies
Yet another title revealed by Charlie on the Dragonworld Videozone. I'm not sure of the story, but he said it was inspired by the 1959 film Darby O'Gill and the Little People starring Sean Connery. That family film was about leprechauns.

Check out the Videozone to see the Production Art. But I'm not sure how long it'll be on YouTube, so see it now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unproduced Empire Pictures Films

Alter Ego (1985)
Directed by Peter Manoogian (Arena), another early Paul De Meo and Danny Bilson effort that was to star Jeffrey Byron (of Empire's The Dungeonmaster) as a sci-fi hero pitched halfway between Mandroid and Jack Deth. The film never got beyond initial planning due to lack of interest from international buyers. Brian Yuzna (Re-Animator) and Rob Goethals (Swamp Thing) were also attached as producer & writer at a stage prior to Bilson/De Meo coming on board.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparatus (1989)
A Futuristic thriller that was to have been directed by Larry Cohen (It's Alive) that apparently concerned "Big Brother'" types controlling the masses through apparatus attached to thier bodies. Abandoned also when Empire Pictures folded.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Barbarian Women (1986)
Another sword and sorcery film, probably set in the future or some other dimension.

user posted image

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beasties (1983)
AKA, "Ghoulies 0" if you will. Charles Band had planned producing and directing this Gremlins "knock off" before the Spielberg movie even hit theatres. It was intented to have Creature effects by future Oscar Winner Stan Winston, whom had worked with Charlie on the film Parasite. There may not have been a script at the time, eventually the star of Parasite, actor turned writer/director Luca Bercovici (American Flyers, The Granny) came in with a new script co-written by Jefrey Levy (Man of God) under the "GHOULIES" title. Stan Winston had no involvement with the production of the film. Ghoulies was finally released in 1985 on a tiny budget of $1 million, and proved to be a box office smash earning $35 million, and being one of Charles Band's highest grossing films ever. It's quite possibly number one for all I know.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bimbo Barbeque (1989)
As it turns out, this was intended to be a sequel to Assault of the Killer Bimbos, a girls on the run sex comedy that inspired THELMA & LOUISE. It's mentioned in ASSAULT's end credits.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bloodless (1989)
Jungle/Ancient horror thing maybe. Slasher or vampire. Anyone got anything?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bloody Bess (1987)
Stuart Gordon planned this adventure movie around the time he was making From Beyond, and also first attempting to raise a decent budget for his pet project The Shadow Over Innsmouth. It was to star Barbara Crampton as a female pirate, out to drink rum, steal gold, and generally show the boys a thing or two about buckling swashes. Rumour has it ex-Empire director Renny Harlin (Prison, Die Hard 2) must have liked the idea, since he lifted it for his 1995 box-office bomb Cutthroat Island, which I have never bothered to watch

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crimelord (1985)
Some kind of crime/cop movie I bet. Think Charlie sold the poster at an eBay auction once.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Creepozoids 2
An Empire/Urban Classics concept, and apparently director of the original Dave DeCoteau (Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge) would've been involved with the production.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Decapitron (1990)
To be directed by Peter Manoogian (Demonic Toys) and a script written by Danny Bilson & Paul De Meo (Trancers, Zone Troopers). This is all the info I could find. Paul and Danny scripted many of the Empire's more commercial action/Sci-Fi films, Charles Band obviously thought it was time that Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo took a step up into the big league. Thus they went about writing a big budget sci-fi epic about a destructive robot with interchangeable heads: a Worzel Gummidge for the new millenium. However, following the collapse of Empire Studios in 1989, and no doubt fueled by the cool reception given to Empire's other 'big' picture Robot Jox, the script was finally shelved. Bilson & De Meo then went on to write the screenplay for the Disney's The Rocketeer in 1991. The character of Decapitron was, however, to re-appear in micro-form as one of the puppets in Jeff Burr's entry in the Full Moon killer toy franchise Puppet Master 4 and Puppet Master 5.

I once emailed film-maker Kenneth J. Hall (Dr. Alien, The Halfway House) about the script. Here's what he replied: "I did read the DECAPITRON script. It was pretty good though there was afundamental flaw in the premise. The central character was supposed to carry 5 or 6 replacement heads capable of different functions. Since, in reality, the heads would be masks worn by an actor, they would have to belarger than normal. The script described him carrying them in something the size of a briefcase when it would really have to be the size of a footlocker. Imagine a character dodging bullets and running through action scenes lugging something that big!"

Also, I may be wrong, but I remember hearing this film would've been Charles Band's most expensive picture ever, at a $14 million budget.

user posted imageuser posted image

(The box art information above is wrong, in foreign places (possibly France) this is actually the 1986 Empire film ELIMINATORS, also written by Paul De Meo and Danny Bilson. It's the only image I could find for this film.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Dirty Filthy Slime
Obviously Empire's attempt to cash in on the kick ass remake of The Blob around the same time. The scriptwriter Kenneth J. Hall apparently planned on making the killer slime a luminous green. I emailed him before asking about this unproduced film, and if his new company ever wanted to make it themselves, and he replied: "No, I never wrote a script for DIRTY FILTHY SLIME. I remember the concept I had was kind of fun but I don't think I ever wrote a treatment for it. I might salvage some of the elements for another script someday but I would never use that title. I did my share of movies in the 80s and 90s with goofy names and was even considering one for my last film. These days, audiences see that kind of title and assume it's going to be low-budget and bad. That's why GUT-EATING MONSTERS FROM HELL became THE HALFWAY HOUSE."

Okay, so it was never even written. If you'd like to learn more about Kenneth's films and recent works check out his website BV Entertainment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dolls 2
Director of the original Stuart Gordon was, at one point, very interested in directing a sequel. The initial storyline would have followed surviving characters Judy and Ralph back to Boston in which Ralph would have indeed married Judy's mother and they would all become a family. Until, one day Judy would receive a box sent from England which would contain the toy makers, Gabriel and Hilary, as dolls. Gabriel was played by Guy Rolfe (Andre Toulon in Puppet Master 3, 4, 5, 7) by the way. It's unknown to me why it was never made.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dream Invaders
A Nightmare on Elm Street ripoff perhaps?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dreams in the Witchhouse
Stuart Gordon and Brian Yuzna mentioned this in the commentary for From Beyond. And they said this and "Shadow Over Innsmouth" (AKA, Dagon) were originally gonna be made after Re-Animator. Stuart did adapt this H.P. Lovecraft story into a 2005 episode of Masters of Horror. A graduate student rents a boarding house once owned by a 17th century witch, and it appears to be cursed by evil forces.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Entangled (1989)
Would've been produced by Irwin Yablans (Halloween).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Floater
In 1989, Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 & 2) signed on to make a $6 million supernatural thriller, one of Band's occasional attempts at 'top-drawer' quality product. Again, the project was abandoned when Empire ceased. Tobe went on to direct Spontaneous Combustion instead.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hotel Dick (1989)
Probably just another Urban Classics sex comedy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Huntress, Spirit of the Night
Originally going to be made by Empire, there's apparently a poster of a woman with an animal face. The concept was eventually adapted into the 1995 Torchlight/Surrender erotica film.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Journeys Through The Darkzone (1986)
Written by Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo (Eliminators), I got nothing much on this. The title was used later as a tagline for Trancers 4.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

L.A.B.C.
All I've read was that the film's tagline was something like "WACKED OUT ZOMBIES ON A RAMPAGE WITHOUT CREDIT CARDS". Anyone got anything else?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Laserblast II
Charles Band attempted this sequel to his box office hit, but the studio was going bankrupt with the production of Robot Jox. Budget limits and rewrites ended up with the lose remake Deadly Weapon, directed by Michael Miner (co-writer of RoboCop) and starring Rodney Eastman (A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lurking Fear (1988)
Originally slated as an Empire Picture directed by Stuart Gordon, this eventually surfaced in 1994 as a micro-budgeted Full Moon pic directed by C. Courtney Joyner, screenwriter of Empire's Prison, Full Moon's Trancers III and Dr. Mordrid. Who knows what was changed later on.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Micropolis (1986)
Movie about a miniture city in a glass bottle thing. I suspect the concept was eventually made into 1998's kid's film The Shrunken City, directed by Ted Nicolaou (Subspecies) for Full Moon's pre-teen label Pulsepounders.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Section 8 (1989)
A would be cannibal film.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shadows and Whispers
Unknown about this possibly erotic thriller, to be directed by David Schmoeller (Crawlspace).

user posted image

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shadow Over Innsmouth (1985)
Based on the 1931 writings of cult author H.P. Lovecraft (Re-Animator, From Beyond)

I think the real reason behind the film never being made was Charles Band disliked the idea of people turning into fish. He didn't buy it for traditional horror. Werewolves maybe, but not fish.

The story was eventually adapted into the film Dagon in 2001, which was directed by Stuart Gordon.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Space Sluts in the Slammer
A group of human women in an intergalactic prison no doubt. Possibly part of Charlie's uncredited Drive-In Urban Classic Sci-Fi adventures like Slave Girls from Beyond Infinity.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spookhouse (1990)
"Ted Nicolau (Subspecies series) was set to write and direct this project and it was to be shot in New Orleans. SPOOKHOUSE was never produced." And that's apparently from Charles Band himself.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strange Magic
I got nothing other than this poster. "The King of Evil is dead. Long live the Queen."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subterraneans (1989)
Heard this was to be the first of a trilogy about a culture of small evolved apes that live in the NYC Subway Tunnels.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Test Tube Teens from the Year 2000 (1988)
A title that slipped off the Empire release slate, only to appear again in 1994 as one of Band's myriad sci-fi/porn combos.

(Two teaser posters sent by a friend)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Vault (1989)
To be directed by Jeff Burr (Puppet Master 4 & 5), I'm not sure what else. Full Moon made another film under this title in 2000, but I have no idea if it reused any story elements.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unproduced Surrender Cinema

Flesh TV (2001)
According to the Cannes 2001 Product Guide, this adult erotic film was in pre-production Two horny aliens take control of earth's TV ariwaves and share their favorite pastime with the rest of the world: naked humans romping everywhere.

Lolita 3000 (2001)
Cannes 2001 Product Guide again, pre-production. On a future world everything is controled by the firm. Lolita, a beguiling enchantress broadcasts erotic tales on pirate airwaves, stimulating and titillating the audiences' senses.

Sensuous Spirits (2001)
Another Cannes 2001 Product Guide erotic film in pre-production. After 100 years as sleeping ghosts, Alice and Thomas awaken to seduce a young work crew as they rebuild an old manor house, and partake in some "spiritual" and amorous adventures.

Unproduced Charles Band Productions

Parasite II
Following the Charles Band/Demi Moore original, the film never hit the script stage after Embassy Pictures fell apart.

Unreleased Films

THE PRIMEVALS (1994)

The Primevals was filmed in Romania around 1994, the movie had Richard Joseph Paul (Zack in Oblivion) and the Cinematography was done by Adolfo Bartoli. It was also produced by Albert Band. It now needs Post-Production. Jim Danforth, Dave Allen's former FX partner is now trying to buy rights to the film so it can get released once and for all. I would definetly buy it.

user posted image

Some other information I've heard of relating to the unfinished Full Moon film THE PRIMEVALS.

Adolfo also shot THE PRIMEVALS for Charles Band/Full Moon in 1994 in the Italian Alps and Romania, a film directed by the late David Allen who died on August 16, 1999 while still toiling away slowly on the film's effects. The film has never been released nor even completed with several stop motion animation and other vfx sequences still to be worked on, though attempts are still being made in 2006 (and beyond) to get it finished. The film stars Juliet Mills, Leon Russom, Richard Joseph Paul, Walker Brandt & Tai Thai.

It was David's legacy and lifelong passion to get this film project on to the screen and for that reason his friends and co-workers are working to still see that happen.

THE PRIMEVALS - a tale about a secret Himalayan valley populated with giant Yetis and an ancient race of alien lizard men - was a project which Allen had nurtured in various forms since the late 1960s. After attempting to finance his dream-project independently, Allen was introduced to producer Charles Band who, at various times during the next 17 years, started up the production in 1978 only to cancel it later for various reasons. But in the late 1980s, it looked like Allen had finally found the backing he needed from Band and the film would be completed. Live action was filmed in the summer of 1994, and from 1995 though much of 1999, Allen worked constantly on the film, devoting untold hours to executing its complex animation sequences. How cruel that Fate should choose now of all times to play such a callous trick, preventing Allen from ever seeing THE PRIMEVALS up on a cinema screen. He died at age 54 in 1999.

In 1968 Allen began working on a project called RAIDERS OF THE STONE RING, the project which eventually became THE PRIMEVALS. A list of other artists who have been involved with the project over the years reads like a Who's Who of stop-motion: Jim Danforth, Dennis Muren, Ken Ralston, Phil Tippett, Randy Cook, Tom St Amand, Dave Carson, Jon Berg....

This was just a rumor, but apparently test footage of THE PRIMEVALS on a (super-expensive) stop motion-focused boxset from Japan that includes Robot Jox and Full Moon's Cinemaker package.

PULSEPOUNDERS (1988)

An unfinished Empire Pictures film directed by Charles Band, and starring Tim Thomerson, Helen Hunt, Jeffrey Combs, Barbra Crampton, and Richard Moll.

Here's what I've heard Charles Band had to say about PulsePounders:

"PULSEPOUNDERS is completely shot, it just needs post-production," says Band. "I still hope to get it out of the mess it's tangled up in and release it. David Gale is terrific in it, and with him gone now, it's all the more reason to get it out where people can see him one last time."

Now here's what Jeffrey Combs had to say:

"Pulsepounders is a real curiosity," Combs says. "It's a movie - or a segment of a trilogy - that i did back in the 1980's while over in Italy. As far as I knew, that movie never got finished. Empire Pictures, Charlie Band's company at that time, tanked. So that film was in pieces and incomplete, and so far as I'd heard just lost in the wars. Now it's showing up on the internet as something that's coming out. I did my segment soon after Re-Animator with Barbara Crampton, the late David Gale and David Warner. Other than the dailies I saw at the time, I never heard or saw anything about it again until information about it suddenly turned up on the internet. So who knws about that. Maybe the next time I talk to Charlie Band, I'll ask him about it."

"I was in a segment called 'The Evil Clergyman', based on a Lovecraft story, Combs continues. "They did a short Trancers / Jack Deth story which I think Helen Hunt was in. And they did one more with Richard Moll, based on another Empire Pictures movie [Dungeonmaster] that had been successful. So it would have been three little odd and hastily connected pieces. They'd all been shot, but they were never able to finish them up. So it would be interesting to see if that does come out - and if it does, well, Charlie owes me some money."

A film that's been left in the vaults for the past 14 years, despite Charles Band's assurances that he was going to finish it off and release it under the Full Moon banner. One of his first dreaded 'multi-sequels', but one of more interest than subsequent trash such as 'Dollman Vs. Demonic Toys': an episodic sequel to 'The Dungeonmaster', 'Trancers' and the H.P. Lovecraft franchise (via an adaption of 'The Evil Clergyman'). David Warner joined Lovecraft stalwarts Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton for the last episode, while the cast of 'Trancers' and 'Dungeonmaster' reunited for the first two installments. Contrary to popular belief, no footage from this film was used in Band's 1991 sequel 'Trancers II'.

Depsite IMDb listing it as 2002, the film has never actually been released and may never be released.
